“Airbyte helped us accelerate our progress by years, compared to our competitors. We don’t need to worry about connectors and focus on creating value for our users instead of building infrastructure. That’s priceless. The time and energy saved allows us to disrupt and grow faster.”

Rupak Patel
"With Airbyte, we could just push a few buttons, allow API access, and bring all the data into Google BigQuery. By blending all the different marketing data sources, we can gain valuable insights."
How to Sync to Manually
Step 1: Understand the Data Structure
Before initiating the data transfer, thoroughly understand the data structure and schema used in ConfigCat. Identify the specific data points you need to move to Weaviate, such as feature flags and their metadata. Similarly, familiarize yourself with the schema requirements of Weaviate to ensure compatibility.
Step 2: Set Up API Access for ConfigCat
Obtain the necessary API keys or tokens required to access ConfigCat’s REST API. Ensure you have permissions to read the data. ConfigCat’s API documentation provides endpoints for retrieving data such as feature flags and configurations. Test these endpoints using tools like Postman to ensure you can successfully access the required data.
Step 3: Extract Data from ConfigCat
Write a custom script or program in your preferred programming language (e.g., Python, Node.js) to extract data from ConfigCat. Use HTTP requests to call the ConfigCat API endpoints. Parse the JSON response to extract relevant data fields. Store this data temporarily in a structured format (like JSON or CSV) for further processing.
Step 4: Transform Data for Weaviate Compatibility
Analyze the data extracted from ConfigCat and transform it into a format compatible with Weaviate’s data schema. This may involve changing data types, renaming fields, or restructuring nested objects. Use scripting techniques to automate this transformation process, ensuring that the data adheres to Weaviate’s requirements.
Step 5: Configure Weaviate Schema
Before importing data, configure the schema in Weaviate to accommodate the transformed data. Define object classes and properties in Weaviate’s schema based on the data you plan to import. Use Weaviate’s console or REST API to set up these schema definitions properly.
Step 6: Import Data into Weaviate
Utilize Weaviate’s REST API to import the transformed data. Write scripts to send HTTP POST requests to Weaviate’s data endpoints, ensuring that each data object is correctly formatted according to the defined schema. Handle any errors or exceptions during the import process to ensure data integrity.
Step 7: Validate and Verify Data Transfer
After importing the data, perform thorough checks to validate and verify the data transfer. Use Weaviate’s API or console to query the imported data, ensuring it matches the original data from ConfigCat. Check for data completeness and accuracy, addressing any discrepancies or errors found during validation.
By following these steps, you can effectively move data from ConfigCat to Weaviate using direct API interactions and custom scripts, without relying on third-party connectors or integrations.
