"With Airbyte, we could just push a few buttons, allow API access, and bring all the data into Google BigQuery. By blending all the different marketing data sources, we can gain valuable insights."
How to Sync to Manually
Step 1: Understand FullStory Data Export Options
Begin by understanding the available data export options in FullStory. FullStory provides APIs that allow you to export session data, events, and other analytics. Familiarize yourself with the FullStory API documentation to understand how to authenticate and request data exports.
Step 2: Set Up FullStory API Access
Create or access your FullStory account’s API key to establish a connection with the FullStory API. This involves logging into FullStory, navigating to the API settings, and generating an API key, which will be used to authenticate API requests.
Step 3: Write a Script to Extract Data from FullStory
Develop a script using a programming language like Python, Node.js, or any language that supports HTTP requests. Your script should authenticate using the FullStory API key, make requests to the FullStory API endpoints, and retrieve the desired data. Ensure the script handles pagination if the data set is large.
Step 4: Transform Data into DynamoDB Format
Once the data is retrieved from FullStory, transform it into a format compatible with DynamoDB. DynamoDB requires data to be in a JSON format that aligns with its schema. This might involve mapping FullStory data fields to your DynamoDB table attributes and ensuring data types match.
Step 5: Set Up AWS SDK for DynamoDB
Install and configure the AWS SDK for your script’s programming language to interact with DynamoDB. This involves setting up AWS credentials with appropriate IAM permissions, allowing the script to put items into your DynamoDB table.
Step 6: Write a Script to Upload Data to DynamoDB
Enhance your script to include functionality for uploading the extracted and transformed data into DynamoDB. This involves using the AWS SDK to batch write items into DynamoDB, ensuring to handle any errors or retries for failed requests.
Step 7: Automate and Schedule Data Transfers
Consider automating and scheduling the data transfer process using a cron job, AWS Lambda, or any other task scheduler. This ensures that data is moved from FullStory to DynamoDB regularly, keeping your data up-to-date without manual intervention. Implement logging and error handling to monitor the process and address any issues promptly.
Following these steps will enable you to move data from FullStory to DynamoDB efficiently using a custom-built solution without relying on third-party connectors or integrations.
