How to load data from MailerSend to Clickhouse

Learn how to use Airbyte to synchronize your MailerSend data into Clickhouse within minutes.

Building your pipeline or Using Airbyte

Airbyte is the only open source solution empowering data teams  to meet all their growing custom business demands in the new AI era.

Building in-house pipelines

Bespoke pipelines are:
  • Inconsistent and inaccurate data
  • Laborious and expensive
  • Brittle and inflexible
Furthermore, you will need to build and maintain Y x Z pipelines with Y sources and Z destinations to cover all your needs.

After Airbyte

Airbyte connections are:
  • Reliable and accurate
  • Extensible and scalable for all your needs
  • Deployed and governed your way
All your pipelines in minutes, however custom they are, thanks to Airbyte’s connector marketplace and AI Connector Builder.

Start syncing with Airbyte in 3 easy steps within 10 minutes

Set up a MailerSend connector in Airbyte

Connect to or one of 400+ pre-built or 10,000+ custom connectors through simple account authentication.

Set up Clickhouse for your extracted MailerSend data

Select where you want to import data from your source to. You can also choose other cloud data warehouses, databases, data lakes, vector databases, or any other supported Airbyte destinations.

Configure the MailerSend to Clickhouse in Airbyte

This includes selecting the data you want to extract - streams and columns -, the sync frequency, where in the destination you want that data to be loaded.

How to Sync to Manually

Step 1: Extract Data from MailerSend

First, you need to extract data from MailerSend. Use the MailerSend API to programmatically retrieve the data you need. You'll need to write a script to send HTTP requests to the MailerSend API endpoints, such as for retrieving email logs or statistics. Ensure you have your API key ready for authentication.

Step 2: Parse the Extracted Data

Once you have the JSON data from the API response, parse it to understand its structure. This can be done using a programming language like Python or JavaScript. Identify the fields you want to transfer to ClickHouse, such as timestamps, email addresses, and status codes.

Step 3: Transform Data to CSV Format

ClickHouse requires data to be in a structured format, such as CSV, for loading. Use your script to transform the parsed JSON data into CSV format. Pay attention to data types and ensure that dates and numbers are correctly formatted.

Step 4: Prepare ClickHouse for Data Insertion

Before inserting data, ensure that your ClickHouse database is set up with the appropriate schema. Create a table that matches the structure of your CSV data. Use the ClickHouse SQL command-line tool or a compatible client to create tables with the necessary columns and data types.

Step 5: Transfer CSV Data to ClickHouse Server

Securely transfer your CSV file to the ClickHouse server. You can use tools like SCP or SFTP for file transfer, ensuring that your server is configured to accept incoming connections.

Step 6: Load Data into ClickHouse

Use the ClickHouse `INSERT INTO ... FROM INFILE` command to load your CSV data into the database table. Run this command on the ClickHouse server, specifying the path to your CSV file. Ensure that the column order in your CSV matches the table schema.

Step 7: Verify Data Integrity

After loading the data, run queries on your ClickHouse database to verify the data integrity and completeness. Check for any discrepancies or missing data. If there are issues, review your extraction, transformation, and loading processes to identify and correct errors.

By following these steps, you can manually move data from MailerSend to a ClickHouse warehouse without using third-party connectors or integrations.
