How to Sync to Manually
Step 1: Export Data from SurveyMonkey
Begin by logging into your SurveyMonkey account. Navigate to the survey from which you want to export data. Click on the “Analyze Results” tab, and then select “Export.” Choose the desired format, such as CSV or Excel, and download the file to your local machine. Ensure you have all required data fields included in the export.
Step 2: Prepare Data for Transfer
Open the exported file using a spreadsheet application like Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets. Review the data to ensure it is clean and well-organized. Remove any unnecessary columns or rows and make sure headers are correctly labeled. This step is crucial to avoid any issues during the upload to Convex.
Step 3: Set Up Convex Environment
Access your Convex account. If you haven't already, create a new project or select an existing project where you want to import the data. Familiarize yourself with the data schema required by Convex, ensuring you understand the fields and formats needed for successful data integration.
Step 4: Map SurveyMonkey Data to Convex Schema
Compare the data from SurveyMonkey against the required schema in Convex. Create a mapping document that outlines how each column from your SurveyMonkey data corresponds to the fields in Convex. Adjust your spreadsheet accordingly, adding, removing, or renaming columns to match the Convex requirements.
Step 5: Format Data to Match Convex Requirements
Using the mapping document as a guide, format the data in your spreadsheet to align with Convex’s data types and structure. This may involve converting date formats, adjusting text fields, or reformatting numerical data. Ensure there are no data type mismatches or invalid entries.
Step 6: Import Data into Convex
Log into Convex, and navigate to the data import section of your project. Follow the instructions provided by Convex to upload your prepared file. Typically, this involves selecting the file from your local machine and initiating the import process. Monitor for any errors or warnings that may arise during the import.
Step 7: Verify Data Integrity in Convex
Once the import is complete, review the data within Convex to ensure it has been transferred accurately. Check for any discrepancies or missing information. If errors are found, address them by correcting the data in your source file and re-importing if necessary. Validate that all necessary data is present and correctly formatted.
By following these steps, you can manually transfer data from SurveyMonkey to Convex without relying on third-party connectors or integrations.
