Begin by setting up a Pub/Sub topic in your Google Cloud Platform (GCP) project. Go to the GCP Console, navigate to Pub/Sub, and create a new topic. Note down the topic name and project ID, as you will need them later.
In the GCP Console, create a service account with the Pub/Sub Publisher role. This account will allow your NetSuite script to authenticate and publish messages to Pub/Sub. Generate a JSON key for this service account and securely store it, as it will be used for authentication in your script.
In your NetSuite account, ensure that SuiteScript is enabled. You'll be using SuiteScript 2.0 to write a script that will send data to Google Pub/Sub. Familiarize yourself with the SuiteScript 2.0 API, particularly the modules for HTTP requests.
Write a SuiteScript 2.0 script to extract the data you wish to send to Google Pub/Sub. This can be a map/reduce or a scheduled script, depending on your data extraction needs. Use the appropriate SuiteScript modules to query and retrieve data from NetSuite records.
In your SuiteScript, implement OAuth 2.0 authentication using the service account JSON key file. Use the HTTP module to make an HTTP POST request to Google’s OAuth 2.0 token endpoint, exchanging the service account credentials for an access token.
With the access token obtained, make an HTTP POST request to the Google Pub/Sub API to publish messages. Structure your data in JSON format and include it in the request payload. Set the appropriate request headers and use the access token for authorization.
Deploy your SuiteScript in NetSuite and schedule it to run at desired intervals using NetSuite's Script Deployment feature. This ensures that data is periodically extracted from NetSuite and sent to Google Pub/Sub automatically, without manual intervention.
